The Bespoke Design Process

Thanks for considering Virginia James Paper for your stationery needs. We aim to create materials that will reflect your personality and style. Here’s how we make sure to exceed your expectations.

1. Details

For weddings, consider any other printed materials you will need, such as save-the-date cards, thank you notes, ceremony programs, place cards, seating charts, menus, and favor tags for a coordinated look. You can order these all at once and save on shipping or order as you need them to spread the cost.

2. Wording

Consider your wording. You will need to supply the copy in a Word or Text document exactly as you wish it to appear. (Double check your spelling!)

3. Payment

All initial consultations and quotes are free of charge. For Bespoke design & hand lettering projects, a 50% deposit is required to secure your booking and begin design work, with the balance payable upon approval to print.

4. Proofing

We will supply a digital proof of your design, to which you are entitled two rounds of revisions. Make sure you proofread it very carefully, paying special attention to names, dates and numbers. It’s a good idea to have a couple of pairs of fresh eyes look over it too, just to be extra safe.

Additional rounds of proofs will be charged at $50 each.

5. Production

If you haven’t already, the balance payment will be due upon your approval. Stationery orders will be sent to print, or your hand-lettered project will be packaged and shipped, allowing your vision to become reality!


Stationery will be carefully packaged and sent via FedEx/UPS to ensure safe and prompt delivery. You may wish to specify a daytime address (such as your work or parents’ house) as delivery will occur during business hours.
